25 Anbu Solai Centers across Tamil Nadu - Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a total of 25 "Anbu Solai" centers, two in each corporation, 20 centers in 10 corporations, 3 centers in Chennai Metropolitan Corporation and 2 centers in the industrial districts of Ranipet and Krishnagiri, at a function held at Ponmalai, Tiruchirappalli today (10.11.2025) on behalf of the Social Welfare and Women's Rights Department, to improve the well-being of senior citizens.
- The 'Indian Urban Movement Conference and Exhibition 2025' was held at a private hotel in Gurugram, Haryana, on Sunday. Union Minister of Urban Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State for Urban Affairs Dogan Sahu were present to present the ‘Urban Transport Efficiency Award’, which was received by Tamil Nadu Transport and Power Minister S.C. Sivasank and Chennai Metropolitan Transport Managing Director T. Prabhushan.
- The Central Government has presented the ‘Urban Transport Efficiency Award’, a prestigious national award for the city with the best public transport system in the country, to the Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation.
- This national award has been given for various development initiatives including dawn travel, special bus service for school students, e-ticketing scheme, National Public Transport Card, and reduction of pollution through electric buses in Chennai and surrounding areas.
- The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has honoured Chennai Metro Rail Corporation with two major national awards. The award was given for Best Performance in Urban Transport and a certificate of appreciation in the category of Best Passenger Service and Satisfactory Metro Rail.
- The awards were presented at the closing ceremony of the Urban Transport India Conference held in Gurugram, Haryana.
- It has been 25 years since the state of Uttarakhand came into being. On the occasion of its Silver Jubilee, he launched projects worth more than Rs. 930 crore there. He laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs. 7,210 crore. These include drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports and skill development.
- Under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, he released Rs. 62 crore to over 28,000 farmers to transfer funds to their bank accounts. Under the schemes launched by the Prime Minister, drinking water will be supplied to 23 zones in Dehradun under the AMRUT scheme. A sub-station will be set up in Pithoragarh district.
- Solar panels will be installed on government buildings. An artificial grass hockey pitch will be set up at the Haldwani Stadium in Nainital. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Chang Dam project to supply 150 million litres of drinking water per day in Dehradun.
- The Zamarani Dam project launched in Nainital will provide drinking water, irrigation and generate power. The foundation stone of other projects including sub-stations and a girls' sports college was also laid in the Sambhavabad area.
