C.P. Radhakrishnan wins Indian Vice Presidential election
- Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was serving as the Vice President of India, had suddenly announced his resignation on July 21, 2025, citing ill health.
- He won the election for Vice President held in Parliament today. He won by a margin of 152 votes. With this, C.P. Radhakrishnan has become the third person from Tamil Nadu to be elected to this high office.
- C.P. Radhakrishnan won by securing 452 votes. Sudarshan Reddy, who contested against him, secured 300 votes. A total of 767 votes were recorded, with 12 people boycotting the election.
Nepal President Ram Chandra Bose and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resign
- Schoolchildren and youth protested in Nepal after a ban on social media. As the protest erupted into riots, the country's President Ram Chandra Bose also resigned from his post. Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli had resigned from his post due to the insistence of the protesters, and the president has also resigned.
- It has been reported that the country's government may have banned social media to prevent the protest. 22 people have died so far due to the ongoing youth protests that began yesterday morning. A curfew has been imposed in the country. But the public could not be controlled.
- The launch of 11th Naval Ship LSAM-25 (Block 135) with Explosives, Torpedo and Missile was held at Suryadeepta Projects Private Limited, Thane on 8 September 2025. Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi was the Chief Guest at the event.
- The contract for building 11 Naval Ships with Explosives, Torpedo and Missile was finalized at MSME shipyard Suryadeepta Projects Private Limited on 05 March 2021.These naval ships were designed indigenously and built at the shipyard in collaboration with the Naval Design Institute of India and the Indian Register of Shipping.
- The prototypes were tested by the Naval Science and Technology Laboratory in Visakhapatnam to test their seaworthiness. The shipyard has already successfully delivered 10 naval ships. These are being used by the Indian Navy for operational upgrades.
- These naval ships are proud pioneers of the Make-in-India and Self-reliant India initiatives of the Central Government.
