PM inaugurates Rs 60,000 crore development projects in Odisha
- Prime Minister Modi, who is on a visit to Odisha, inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore in sectors like telecom, railways and higher education in Jharsuguda. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the expansion of eight IITs across the country.
- It will have the capacity to accommodate 10,000 new students in the next four years. He also inaugurated a 5 km flyover built at a cost of Rs 273 crore in Sambalpur city.
- Indian public sector telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is already providing 4G telecommunications services to 2.2 crore customers. In this situation, 97,500 new mobile towers have been set up in 29,000-30,000 villages to provide 100% 4G service across the country.
- Prime Minister Modi, who launched various projects in Odisha, also launched the indigenous 4G service today through video conferencing. With this, India joins the list of countries like Denmark, Sweden, South Korea and China to manufacture telecommunications equipment domestically.
- Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and others attended the event held at the Jaipur Trade and Convention Centre.
- The fourth edition of the World Food India 2025 Conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 25. Organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, this global event has repositioned India as the world's food hub and strengthened its leadership in food processing.
- Inaugurating the conference, the Prime Minister visited the exhibition hall and expressed satisfaction over the emphasis on nutrition, reduction of oil consumption and improvement of hygiene aspects in food packaging.
- The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Mr Dmitry Patrushev, Union Ministers, Mr Chirag Paswan and Mr Pratap Jadhav.
- Sessions were held from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Jharkhand, Bihar and New Zealand, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, and sessions were hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of AYUSH, Export Promotion Council for Agriculture and Processed Foods, and the World Bank.
- In addition, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries hosted thirteen sessions covering the five core pillars of this year's edition and key topics such as pet food, nutraceuticals, specialty foods, plant-based foods, etc.
- 21 MoUs with investments of over Rs. 25,000 crore were signed. The total value of MoUs signed in two days crossed Rs. 1 lakh crore. As part of the conference, talks were held with Russia and Portugal to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and food processing. Along with the World Food India Conference, two other international conferences are also being held.
