Online Gambling Prohibition Bill - Passed in Rajya Sabha

• The Union Cabinet meeting on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Modi was held yesterday. In this, several important projects were approved. In particular, the bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha after the approval of the bill to regulate online gambling.
• In this situation, the Online Gambling Prohibition Bill has been passed in the Rajya Sabha. It has been announced that the bill has been passed without discussion through a voice vote amid protests from the opposition parties.
• The bill provides for imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to Rs 1 crore for a person who provides online gaming services in violation of the rules.

July 2025 All India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural and Rural Workers

• The All India Consumer Price Index for agricultural workers increased by 1.23 points to 135.31 in July. The index for rural workers increased by 1.30 points to 135.66.
• The Labour Board, under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, has released a report stating that the Consumer Price Index for Agricultural and Rural Workers has been calculated based on the year 2019.
• The index has been calculated based on sample data from 787 villages in 34 states and union territories. The report further states that 1.94 points have been calculated for the index for food items for agricultural workers and 2.16 points for rural workers.
• The Consumer Price Index for agricultural workers in Tamil Nadu has decreased from 133.27 points in June to 131.68 points in July, while the Consumer Price Index for rural workers has decreased from 132.63 points in June to 131.12 points in July.

'Agni 5' missile test-fired successfully off the Odisha coast

• In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, 'All operational and technical parameters have been verified. The test was conducted under the command of the Strategic Forces. NASA and the Canadian Space Agency are exploring space with it. In this situation, while the James Webb Telescope was exploring Uranus as the 7th planet in the Milky Way, the Webb Telescope has now discovered another moon orbiting the planet Uranus. 
• Uranus already has 28 moons. Following this, the number of Uranus moons has increased to 29. This new moon has been provisionally named S/2023 U1.
