Retail inflation at 8-year low
- Retail inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell to 1.55 per cent in July, down from 2.1 per cent in June and 3.6 per cent in July 2024. This is the lowest inflation since 1.46 per cent in June 2017. Food inflation was recorded at -1.76 per cent in July.
- The report said that the decline in retail inflation and food inflation was mainly due to lower prices of pulses, vegetables, cereals, eggs, sugar and sweets, transport and communication, and education.

- My Bharat, an organization operating under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ultimate Leadership Foundation School to collaborate in knowledge sharing, skill building and youth leadership development.
- The partnership has been formed to help implement the national vision of developing one lakh young leaders in the age group of 18-29 across the country.
- Joint projects will be undertaken in the areas of governance, public policy, social entrepreneurship, digital literacy and financial literacy. The MoU will be in effect for three years. It can be extended subject to mutual consent of both parties.
- The MoU includes designing and implementing leadership programmes, conducting conferences and workshops, conducting joint research, and providing capacity building training to institutions serving youth.
- Participants will be selected from all over India in an inclusive approach. The following activities will be carried out at designated focal points and through joint working groups:
- Youth conferences, seminars, and workshops will be organized for leadership development.
- Capacity building training will be provided to institutions, educational and training institutions serving youth.
- Joint research will be conducted on youth leadership.
- Best practices in youth leadership and capacity building will be disseminated.
- Trainers and experts will be exchanged between MyBharat and Ultimate Leadership Foundation School.
- Training tools, curriculum, and evaluation will be developed.
- Networking efforts will be undertaken to connect young leaders across the country.
- Participants will be selected online on a merit-based, inclusive basis.
- Under this MoU, an online leadership training programme for the youth of the country will be launched in September.
- Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, an autonomous trust in New Delhi under the Ministry of Culture, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Birpal Sahani Archaeological Science Institute, an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Lucknow in New Delhi.
- The MoU has been signed to create an integrated science and culture platform to showcase the country's scientific and cultural achievements to domestic and international audiences.
- Under this MoU, multidisciplinary research, collaborative events and sharing of expertise will be undertaken.
