Tamil Nadu ranks 2nd in per capita income
- Tamil Nadu has ranked second in India in terms of per capita income, the Union Minister of State for Finance has announced in the Lok Sabha, citing statistics from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
- Tamil Nadu has ranked second in India with an income of Rs 1,96,309, which is higher than the national average per capita income of India.
- Moreover, according to the information released by Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary, Karnataka has topped the list with an income of Rs 2,04,605. Haryana has ranked third with an income of Rs 1,94,285.
- The 8th anti-submarine warfare ship built by Gordon Reach Shipbuilding and Engineering (GRSE), a public sector undertaking of the defence department, was dedicated to the country on Monday.
- This is the 8th and final warship built by GSRE in the anti-submarine warfare category for the Indian Navy. Priya Deshmukh, wife of Vice Chief of the Indian Navy, dedicated the anti-submarine warfare ship ‘Ajay’ to the nation.
- The 77.6-meter-long and 10.5-meter-wide anti-submarine warfare ship ‘Ajay’ is capable of carrying out various operations. It is noteworthy that this warship can also operate effectively in shallow water areas.
- The ship is capable of carrying out tasks such as coastal surveillance and underwater mining as a warship with aircraft.
