Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the Easy Governance Scheme for the use of the people
- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin today (29.5.2025) at the Secretariat, under the "Easy Governance" scheme through the administrative reform initiative of the Human Resource Management Department, the Health Certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu Government, the "Easy Governance" scheme of the Public Building Management Department-based reform initiative, the Health Certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu Government, the Public Building License, the Old Age Homes License, the Hostel License for Working Women, the Women's Homes License, the Property Value Certificate, the White Industry List, the No-Obstacle Certificate for the Use of Cultivated Lands for Non-Agricultural Activities, the Good Conduct Certificate, and the No-Obstacle Certificate for Government Employees to Obtain Passports, simplifying the procedures and launching an online service for the use of the people.
- The foundation stone laying ceremony for the Kalaignar International Arena in Muttukadu near Chennai was held on May 29. This world-class arena is being built on a 37.99-acre site on the East Coast Road at a cost of Rs 525 crore.
- At a ceremony held at the Secretariat, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone via video conferencing. The arena will be built on 5.12 lakh square feet, with an exhibition hall that can accommodate 10,000 people at a time, a conference hall that can accommodate 5,000 people, pavilions, open-air stages, a restaurant and parking facilities for 10,000 vehicles.
- The arena will serve as a gathering place for technical meetings, world trade conferences, film festivals and international events. The target is to complete the construction work in 18 months, and work has now begun on 30 acres.
- In a significant step towards expanding the city gas distribution infrastructure in India, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the city gas distribution project in Alipurduar, West Bengal.
- The city gas distribution project, worth over Rs. 1010 crore, aims to provide piped natural gas to over 2.5 lakh households, over 100 commercial establishments and industrial units by setting up around 19 CNG stations as per the minimum work plan targets set by the government.
- The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday recommended the appointment of Karnataka High Court Chief Justice N.V. Anchariya, Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi and Bombay High Court Justice A.S. Chandurkar as judges of the Supreme Court.
- The President accepted the recommendation and appointed all three as judges of the Supreme Court. Three vacancies arose in the Supreme Court following the retirement of former Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Abhay S. Oka and Hrishikesh Roy. The vacancies have now been filled.
