Governor R.N. Ravi approves 4 bills related to finance
- 18 bills were passed by voice vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly session and sent to the Governor. Among them, Governor R.N. Ravi has approved 4 bills related to the financial statement of the Tamil Nadu government presented by Minister Thangam Thennarasu. Out of the 18 bills sent, 14 bills are pending.
- The UN's World Economic Situation and Prospects study says that the global economy is at significant risk due to increasing political uncertainty and trade tensions worldwide. Moreover, many countries are expected to grow slowly.
- Apart from that, the UN says that despite the global economic instability, India continues to progress. It also said that India will continue to be the world's fastest-growing major economy this year, with a growth rate of 6.3 percent in the current financial year.
- Next year, India's economy is expected to grow by 6.4 percent, but this is considered a slight slowdown compared to the previous ones.
- Compared to other major economies, China is expected to grow by 4.6 percent, the US by 1.6 percent, the European Union by one percent, and Japan by just 0.7 percent. It also says that Germany may experience negative growth of 0.1 percent.
