Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated Sifi Technologies' state-of-the-art data center
  • Sifi Technologies is a company that provides various solutions including integrated Internet service solutions and telecommunication services, data center infrastructure, cloud, network services and security solutions.
  • The company has established a state-of-the-art data center with various features including 40 MW power support at the SIPCOT-Sirusheri Information Technology Park.
  • In the first phase, an investment of Rs. 1,882 crore has been made in this project. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated this state-of-the-art data center, which can provide direct employment to 1000 people, today (April 17).
  • The company has said that it plans to invest Rs. 13,000 crore in Chennai by 2027. It is noteworthy that the Memorandum of Understanding for this project was signed during the Global Investors Summit held in Chennai in January 2024.
20th Cabinet meeting chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin
  • The 20th Cabinet meeting was held today (17.04.2025) at 6 pm at the Chennai Secretariat under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. It has been reported that in this cabinet meeting, approval of new industrial investments, approval of new projects announced in the budget and the high-level committee formed to improve relations between the Central and State governments were also discussed.
  • Permission has been given to move towards the next stage of development in new industries in Tamil Nadu. A target of attracting investment of Rs. 10 thousand crores has been set during the cabinet meeting.
  • Through this, investment will be received in the industrial sector to provide employment to 10 thousand youth. The cabinet has approved the Tamil Nadu Space Industry Policy.
Government Amendment Bill to make differently-abled members members through nomination process introduced in Tamil Nadu Assembly
  • Chief Minister M.K. Stalin introduced the Government Amendment Bills in the Assembly to make differently-abled members members through nomination process in Tamil Nadu urban local bodies without directly contesting elections.
  • These two bills are to be introduced on behalf of the Municipal Administration and Rural Development departments.
  • In all local bodies in Tamil Nadu, namely, village panchayats, panchayat unions, town panchayats, municipalities and corporations, differently-abled persons are made members through nomination process without directly contesting elections.
  • Later, the Chief Minister introduced the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Amendment Bill, 2025 and the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Second Amendment Bill, 2025.
