TADCO appoints new chairman
  • In a notification issued by the Secretary of the Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, it was stated that "Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TADCO) was started in 1974 by the then Chief Minister, Muthamizhari Kalaignar, for the upliftment of Adi Dravidars and is continuously functioning.
  • The construction wing of TADCO is carrying out the construction of fireproof houses, school hostels and community halls for the homeless Adi Dravidars, while the development wing is implementing various economic development projects as per the needs of the Adi Dravidar and tribal people.
  • At present, Mr. N. Ilayaraja has been appointed as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation vide Government Order (P) No. 110. Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, dated 28.03.2025 The order has been issued.
Growth of key sectors in February 2025
  • The growth of many sectors out of the total 8 key sectors has been setback in February. Coal has grown by 1.7) percent (11.6% in February last year), refining by 0.8 percent (2.6%), steel by 5.6 percent (9.4%), and electricity by 2.8 (7.6%) percent.
  • This is very low compared to February last year. Fertilizer production has increased by 10.2 percent and cement by 10.5 percent. All these 8 sectors have achieved a growth of 4.4 percent in the 11 months from April to February in the current financial year.
  • It was 7.8 percent in the same period last year. Previously, it had grown by 2.4 percent in September last year, according to a statement issued by the Union Government.
Operation Brahma
  • A very powerful earthquake occurred in Myanmar on Friday (March 28), which caused more than a thousand deaths. Not only Myanmar but also Thailand, Vietnam and China have been affected by the earthquakes that have been felt in many parts of the above countries. Rescue work has been intensified in those areas.
  • Relief materials are being sent to Myanmar, which has suffered heavy damage due to the earthquake, under the name of 'Operation Brahma'. In this regard, 15 tons of relief materials have been sent by India.
  • The relief materials sent by the Indian Air Force (IAF C 130J) aircraft from Hindon Airport in Uttar Pradesh have reached Myanmar.
