Tamil-Indo-European Comparative Dictionary of Etymology, prepared by Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation - released by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin
- Chief Minister M.K. Stalin released the general preface and the first volume of the Tamil-Indo-European Comparative Dictionary of Etymology project, prepared by the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation and Oxford University Press on behalf of the School Education Department, at the Chennai Secretariat.
- The project studies the etymological relationship between Tamil and Indo-European languages. Based on this, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin received the permission of Sugandha Das, Managing Director, India Division, Oxford University Press, to publish these books.
- Amendments have been made to this Act to further strengthen the efficient rescue efforts of the states during disasters. In addition, it has been stated that this Act will ensure that the Central Government helps the States in all disasters.
- While several bills brought by the opposition parties were rejected in the Rajya Sabha, the Disaster Management Amendment Bill 2024 has been passed by voice vote.
- According to the Disaster Management Act 2005, state governments face difficulties in dealing with disasters, and amendments have been made to this Act after receiving the challenges and recommendations to be implemented from the state governments.
- Through this Act, responsibilities will be divided and given evenly to various organizations participating in disaster relief operations. The hierarchy in which more than one organization works together in a disaster has also been arranged.
- The Disaster Management Amendment Bill has been passed after various criticisms were made about the actions of the Central Government during the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala.
