Delhi Assembly Election Results 2025
  • The Delhi Assembly elections, which are the capital of the country with 70 constituencies, were held in a single phase on the fifth. In this situation, the counting of votes has begun from 8 am today.
  • 5000 workers are involved in the counting of votes. The counting of votes is taking place in 19 centers. First, the votes cast in postal votes are counted, followed by the votes cast in electronic voting machines.
  • In this context, as the counting of votes is in the final stage, all the star candidates of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party have faced setbacks. The BJP party is set to come to power in Delhi after 27 years, with a lead of more than 40 seats.
  • Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has lost to BJP candidate Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi constituency by a margin of more than three thousand votes. Similarly, Manish Sisodia has also suffered a defeat in the Jangpura constituency.
642 crore MoU with BEL for 28 EON-51 systems for Indian Navy
  • The Ministry of Defence today (February 08, 2025) signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in New Delhi for the purchase of 28 EON-51 systems for 11 new generation maritime patrol vessels and three cadet training ships for the Indian Navy.
  • EON-51 is an electro-optical fire control system. It uses electro-optical and thermal imagers to search, detect and classify targets. The project will generate several jobs over a period of three years. 
  • It will also encourage active participation of various Indian industries, including MSMEs. It will contribute significantly to the government’s efforts to achieve ‘self-reliance’ in defence.
15th Aero India International Symposium begins in Bengaluru
  • The 15th edition of the biennial Aero-India International Symposium began today (February 08, 2025) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Centre for Military Airworthiness Certification (CEMILAC) in association with the Aeronautical Society of India (ASI) has organised the two-day symposium as a prelude to Aero India 2025.
  • The symposium is a major event in the global aerospace arena. This year's theme is 'Future Space Technologies: Challenges in Design Verification'. The conference will discuss emerging trends in future space technologies, challenges in military airworthiness certification, design, testing and their solutions.
