Heavy Vehicles Factory signs Rs 1,561 crore deal for procurement of 47 T-72 Bridge-Laying Armoured Vehicles for Indian Army
  • The Ministry of Defence has signed a deal with Heavy Vehicles Factory for procurement of 47 T-72 Bridge-Laying Armoured Vehicles for the Indian Army, worth a total of Rs 1,560.52 crore.
  • The agreement was signed today (January 21, 2025) in New Delhi by senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and Heavy Vehicles Factory in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh.
  • The BLD is an important piece of equipment used by the forces for building bridges during offensive and defensive operations. Being an indigenously designed project, it will give a boost to the Make in India initiative in the defence sector. The project will play a major role in boosting the overall economy and generating employment in the country.
