15th Finance Commission Grant Allocation for Rural Development to Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh
- The Central Government has allocated 15th Finance Commission Grant for the financial year 2024-25 to the rural local bodies in Uttar Pradesh. An unconditional grant worth Rs. 1598.80 crore has been allocated as the 2nd installment.
- This fund has been allocated to all the eligible 75 district panchayats, eligible 826 block panchayats and eligible 57691 village panchayats of the state.
- In the financial year 2024-25, an unconditional grant of Rs. 420.9989 crore has been allocated as the 2nd installment to the rural local bodies in Andhra Pradesh as the 15th Finance Commission Grant. In addition, Rs. 25.48 crore that was withheld in the first installment has also been released.
- Applicable to 13,097 eligible selected village panchayats, 650 selected block panchayats and all 13 district panchayats in the state.
- The Central Government, through the Ministry of Panchayat Raj and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, recommends the release of the 15th Finance Commission for Rural Local Bodies grant to the states. The allocated grant is released in 2 installments in a financial year.
- President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das. In this context, Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambampatti has been appointed as the Governor of Odisha.
- Former Army Chief Vijay Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Governor of Mizoram. Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath has been appointed as the Governor of Kerala.
- Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar. It has been informed that this order will come into effect from the day they take charge of their respective offices.
- Railways athlete Sahu Tushar Mane won the championship title in the men's 10m air rifle category of the National Shooting Championship to be held in Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
- The Maharashtra-born athlete won the gold medal with a score of 252.3 in the final round, while Telangana's Dhanush Srikanth won the silver with 252.2 points. Rajasthan's Yash Vardhan won the bronze medal.
- In the same junior men's final round, former world champion Rudranksh Patil from Maharashtra won the gold with a new world record by scoring 254.9 points.
- Earlier, Chinese Olympic champion Zheng Lihao had scored 254.5 points in the senior category, which was the world record, but now Rudranksh has broken it. Abhishek Shekhar of Karnataka won silver with 251.4 points and Himanshu of Haryana won bronze.
- The same Himanshu won gold in the men's 10m air rifle youth category with 253 points. Yash Pandey of Madhya Pradesh won silver and Abhinav Shah of West Bengal won bronze.
- Azeem Roja Devi scored a goal in the 55th minute for Manipur to win in the final match of the 29th National Women's Football Championship. With this, Manipur defeated Odisha 1-0 to become the champion on Monday.
- Manipur, who participated in the competition as the defending champion, has now won the trophy for the 23rd time. On the other hand, Odisha, which reached the final for the 7th time, has suffered a 6th defeat in it. It is noteworthy that Odisha has faced Manipur in all its final matches.
