India's ranking in the Travel and Tourism Development Index
- According to the Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024 report published by the World Economic Forum, India is ranked 39th out of 119 countries. In the previous index published in 2021, India was ranked 54th.
- The Union Ministry of Tourism provides financial assistance to the State Governments/Union Territories for the development of various tourist destinations under the schemes Domestic Tourism, Pilgrimage, National Mission for Promotion of Spiritual Heritage, Assistance to Central Agencies for Development of Tourism Infrastructure.
