Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launches 'Jalwahak' policy to promote inland waterways
- The Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, today launched a major policy for the development of freight, 'Jalwahak', which aims to promote long-distance freight transport through National Waterways 1 (River Ganga), National Waterways 2 (River Brahmaputra) and National Waterways 16 (River Barak).
- Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off cargo ships MV AAI, MV Homi Baba and MV Trishul and two logistics boats Ajay and Dighu from the Government Boat Harbour in New Delhi.
