Cabinet approves continuation of Atal Innovation Mission
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved continuation of its flagship scheme, Atal Innovation Mission, under NITI Aayog with a funding allocation of Rs 2,750 crore till March 31, 2028.
- Atal Innovation Mission 2.0 is an initiative towards growth, which aims to expand, strengthen and deepen India’s already vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved a new scheme of the Union Government called “One Nation, One Subscription”. The scheme will be managed through a simple, user-friendly and fully digital process.
- Through this, research publications and research journals related to the field of education will be available. It will be a “One Nation One Subscription” facility for Government Higher Education Institutions and Central Government Research and Development Laboratories.
- A total of Rs 6,000 crore has been allocated for the One Nation One Subscription Scheme for the three years 2025, 2026 and 2027 as a new Central Sector Scheme.
- The Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved three projects of the Ministry of Railways worth a total of Rs 7,927 crore (approx.).
- The projects are Jalgaon - Manmad 4th Railway Line (160 km), Bhusawal - Khandwa 3rd & 4th Railway Line (131 km) and Prayagraj (Iradhatganj) - Manikpur 3rd Railway Line (84 km).
- The Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved an investment of Rs. 1939 crore for setting up Heyo Hydropower Project in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. The completion period of the project is 50 months.
- The project, with an installed capacity of 240 MW (3 x 80 MW), will generate 1000 million units of electricity. The electricity generated from this project will help improve the current power supply situation in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and balance the national power grid.
- The project will be implemented through a joint venture company of North Eastern Electricity Corporation Limited and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The Central Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 127.28 crore for the development of roads, bridges and related infrastructure. The Central Government will also provide Rs. 130.43 crore as the state's share.
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the PAN 2.0 scheme of the Income Tax Department. The financial allocation for the Permanent Account Number 2.0 scheme is Rs. 1435 crore.
