One country, one election approved by Union Cabinet

• The Union Cabinet has approved the report of the committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind on One Country, One Election.

• This includes modifying the scope and funding of the Gaganyaan program to include new developments for the Bharatiya Space Station and launch missions and additional requirements to meet the ongoing Gaganyaan program.

• The Chandrayaan-4 spacecraft will land on the Moon and return to Earth safely. It is planned to be implemented by 2040.
• The central government has laid out a comprehensive vision for an Indian Space Station (Bharatiya Antariksh Station) by 2035 and an Indian Amritsar Space Program on the Moon by 2040.
