Lakshtipati Sisters Conference held at Jalgaon, Maharashtra - Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the Lakshatipati Sisters Conference held today in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He honored 11 lakh new sisters who recently became Lakshadhipatis during the third term of the current government by presenting certificates.
- The Prime Minister also interacted with Lakshadhipati sisters across the country. The Prime Minister began his speech by thanking the large number of mothers and sisters who attended the event.
- The Union Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Modi. Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Natta, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ashwini Vaishnav and others participated in this meeting.
- In this meeting, approval was given to implement the Integrated Pension Scheme for Central Government Employees.
- Under the scheme, which will come into effect from April 1 next year, a central government employee will get 50 per cent of the average basic pay drawn in the 12 months before retirement as pension.
- The period of service for which one is eligible for full pension is 25 years. For those with less than 10 years of government service, the pension will be calculated on a pro rata basis.
- Currently, the contribution of the employees in the pension scheme is 10 percent and the central government's contribution is 14 percent. Under this new pension scheme, the central government's contribution will be increased to 18 percent. About 23 lakh central government employees will benefit from this integrated pension scheme.
