Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang wins again

• The Sikkim Kranthikari Morcha (SKM) led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang won 31 seats in the 32-member assembly, making history and retaining power for a second term in the hill state of Sikkim.
• On the other hand, India's longest-serving Chief Minister, Sikkim Democratic Front (STF) party leader and former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Samling has lost both the seats he contested. 
• The Sikkim Democratic Front managed to win only one seat. Tenzing Norbu Lamtha, who contested from Sheari constituency, won only one seat.

BJP wins in Arunachal Pradesh

• The first phase of polling for the 60 assembly constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh was held on April 19. It was in BJP's favor in the state as the BJP won 10 of the total 60 seats unopposed. 
• Chief Minister Pema Kandu and Deputy Chief Minister Sauna Mein have already won their respective seats. In Arunachal Pradesh assembly election results Bharatiya Janata Party has won 46 seats out of 60 seats.

Chinese spacecraft lands on the South Pole of the Moon

• China's Chang'e-6 spacecraft has landed on the South Pole of the Moon today. Through this, it is reported that soil and rock samples will be collected from the southern part of the unknown moon and the nature of the area will be investigated.
• Last year, India became the first to land its Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the South Pole of the Moon. Subsequently, China has also landed its spacecraft in the area.
