Early Carboniferous Chola Inscription found at Vedapureeswarar Temple, Emapur
- Emapur Srivedaburisuvarar temple is undergoing renovation work. During the research, Adita discovered the Karikala Chola inscription. The inscription begins Swasti Sriveerapandian headed Kopparakerasi. An inscription dated 960 A.D., the fourth year of his reign, calls this town as Emapperur in Tirumunapadi country.
- It has served as the capital of a country. Emapperur is now called Maruvi Emapur. The inscription mentions that Nigarili Murthy, who prayed to Thiruvalanturai Alvar, handed over 99 goats to Panmakeswara, who managed the temple, to light a Nanda lamp till the sun and moon.
- From these we can also know that Adita Karikala Chola ruled the region. And the inscription of Vodiyarkudi Anandeeswarar temple near Kattumannarkoil mentions that he was killed by conspiracy and also clearly states his name list.
- The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on May 27, 2024 approved the extension of the tenure of Defense Research and Development Secretary and DRTO Chairman Dr Sameer V Kamat for a period of one year till May 31, 2025, beyond his retirement age (May 31, 2024).
- He was appointed in this capacity on August 25, 2022. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Ohio University, USA, Dr. Kamath joined DRTO in 1989. He has worked effectively in various capacities and received many awards.
- The Department of Science and Technology organized a two-day conference on Climate Change 2024 from May 27 to 28, 2024 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
- Climate action in the Indian environment, data quality control, improving climate forecasting, strengthening communication with people, etc. were discussed in this conference. Experts from all over India participated in it.
