Vijayanagara Kings Period Middle Stone Discovery near Kandili
- During a field survey conducted under the leadership of Tiruppattur District Antiquities Conservation Center Coordinator Prabhu, a stone was found at a place called Toppalakoundanur near Kandili.
- The central stone is 3 feet wide and 3 feet high. The Mesolithic scene is described as relief sculptures. To the left of the central stone is a warrior on horseback in battle.
- With his left hand he holds the bridle of his horse and in his right hand carries a large sword and tries to attack the archer in front of him. It is described here that the horseman is fighting bravely even when the arrow shot by the opposite warrior flies through the horseman's head.
- In the 14th century, a horseman is depicted as fighting furiously as the archer comes out from the chest of the archer. The archer is seen holding a bow in his left hand and striking the horse in the face with his sword in his right hand.
- Nadugal tells us about a fight between a horseman with an arrow through his head and an archer coming out the other side with a shaft through his chest.
- This Nadukal is a proof of how heroic the war event of the Tamils was. This center stone is a center stone taken for two soldiers who gave their lives in the war held in this area. It is possible that these middle Vijayanagara kings date back to the beginning of the reign period. That means 14th century AD.
