India's indigenously developed missile test-fired successfully
- The missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Center located in the state of Odisha. The missile was tracked through technologies such as radar and electro-optical tracking installed at various locations. Apart from these, the missile was also monitored by an Indian Air Force aircraft.
- According to the Ministry of Defence, the latest software and technologies are used in this missile to carry out precision strikes. The missile was developed at the DRTO laboratory located in Bangalore.
- Other defense laboratories and institutions in India have contributed to missile development. It is noteworthy that India is actively making efforts to design and manufacture its own military equipment locally.
- The government has appointed Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, who is currently serving as the Deputy Commander of the Navy, as the next Commander of the Navy from April 30, 2024.
- The appointment comes in view of the retirement of the current Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar, from service on April 30, 2024.
- Born on 15 May 1964, Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on 01 July 1985. A communications and electronic warfare expert, he has worked in it for nearly 39 years.
