PM Modi launched various development projects worth over Rs 34,000 crore in Azamgarh
  • Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects worth more than Rs.34,000 crore in Asamgarh, Uttar Pradesh today.
  • In a major boost to the civil aviation sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated 15 airport projects worth over Rs 9800 crore across the country and laid the foundation stones. He will inaugurate 12 new terminal buildings at Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti and Adampur airports. The Prime Minister laid foundation stones for three new terminal buildings at Kadapa, Hubballi and Belagavi airports.
  • The Prime Minister inaugurated the Beacon Project in Lucknow and Ranchi. More than 2,000 affordable flats with modern infrastructure have been built under it. He laid the foundation stone for various road projects in Uttar Pradesh worth around Rs.11,500 crore.
  • The Prime Minister dedicated 744 rural road projects worth over Rs 3,700 crore to the country under the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Scheme. As a result of these projects, a total of 5,400 km of rural roads will be constructed in about 59 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Asif Ali Zatari sworn in as the 14th President of Pakistan
  • Chief Justice Quasi Faiz Isa administered the oath to Asif Ali Zatari at the swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad. The event was attended by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chiefs of the three armed forces and senior officers.
  • Asif Ali Zatari, husband of late former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and father of former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zatari, was officially named as Pakistan's next president on Saturday.
  • Bilawal Bhutto Zatari's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) supported former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party to form the government after the country's parliamentary elections held on the 8th of last month.
