பாதுகாப்பு ஆய்வகம் | DEFENCE LABORATORY: பாதுகாப்பு ஆய்வகம் (Defence Laboratory) என்பது இந்திய நடுவண் அரசின் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகத்தின் மேற்பார்வையில் செயல்படும் பாதுகாப்பு ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் வளர்ச்சி அமைப்பின் (டி. ஆர். டீ. ஓ) கீழ் செயல்படும் ஒரு ஆராய்ச்சி மையமாகும்.
ராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலத்தில் ஜோத்பூரில், ரதனட அரண்மனையில் (Ratanada Palace) அமைந்திருந்த பாதுகாப்பு ஆய்வகம், தற்போது புதிய தொழில்நுட்ப வளாகத்திற்கு{New Technology Complex(NTC)} மாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்தியாவின் பாதுகாப்பைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு அதி நவீன போர் வாகனங்கள் மற்றும் போர்க் கருவிகளுக்குத் தேவையான மின்னணுவியல் சார்ந்த கருவிகளையும் பொருட்களையும் ஆராய்ந்து, அவற்றை மேம்படுத்தி இந்திய இராணுவத்திற்க்கு வழங்குவதே பாதுகாப்பு ஆய்வகத்தின் தலையாய கடமையாகும்.
வானொலி ஊடகம் மூலம் தொலைதொடர்பு கொள்வதற்கான உத்திகள் (Radio Communication Systems), தரவு இணைப்புகளை அமைக்கும் முறைகள் (Data links), செயற்கைக்கோள் தகவல்தொடர்பு முறைகள் (Satellite Communication Systems), 1-10 மில்லிமீட்டர் நீளஅலை தகவல் தொடர்பு முறைகள் (Millimeter Wave Communication systems) ஆகிய துறைகளில் பாதுகாப்பு ஆய்வகம் ஆராய்ச்சிகளைப் புரிந்து வருகின்றன.
சில வல்லுனர்கள் நுண்ணுயிரியில் சார்ந்த ஆராய்ச்சிகளிலும், சிலர் உயிரித் தொழில்நுட்பங்களை மேம்படுத்துவதிலும் ஆராய்சிகள் நடத்துகின்றனர்.
உருமறைப்பு உடைகளை (Camouflaging clothing) மேம்படுத்தி இராணுவத்தினர் எதிரிகளின் பார்வையில் படாமல் ஊடுருவதற்கான உடைகளை தயாரிப்பதிலும் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர்.
