At Rewari in Haryana, the Prime Minister dedicated various development projects worth over Rs 9,750 crore to the country and laid foundation stones for new projects
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects worth more than Rs.9750 crore in Rewari, Haryana today, dedicated the completed projects to the country and laid foundation stones for various development projects. These projects cater to several key sectors related to urban transport, health, railways and tourism. Mr. Modi also visited exhibitions on the occasion of the event.
- The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Gurugram Metro Rail project to be built at a cost of around Rs 5,450 crore.
- The foundation stone of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is laid in Rewari, Haryana. To be built at a cost of around Rs 1,650 crore, AIIMS will be developed on 203 acres of land at Majra Mustil Balki village in Rewari.
- The Prime Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Anubhav Kendra Jyotisaram at Kurushshetra. The museum has been built at a cost of around Rs.240 crores. The museum is spread over 17 acres with an indoor area of 100,000 square feet.
- The England team, which is touring India, is playing a series of 5 Test matches. As the third Test cricket match is going on, Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin has taken the wicket of Jack Crawley. With this, he set a record of taking 500 wickets in Test cricket matches.
- A meeting of the Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) was chaired by the Defense Minister on February 16. In this meeting, the Ministry of Defense approved capital procurement projects worth Rs 84,560 crore to enhance the capabilities of the Army and Indian Coast Guard.
- During the recently announced interim budget for the fiscal year, the central government has allocated Rs 6.21 lakh crore to the defense sector. This is 4.72 per cent higher than the previous year's allocation of Rs 5.94 lakh crore.
- The amount is about 13 percent of the overall budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on February 1. The Ministry of Defense received the largest sum among all ministries.
- The Defense Acquisition Council headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is responsible for procurement of arms and equipment for the Indian Army.
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) have jointly signed an agreement for UPI-NPI linkage. The integration aims to facilitate cross-border remittances between India and Nepal.
- After the signing of the complete terms of reference for the agreement between the central banks of the two countries, the necessary arrangements for the merger of UPI and NPI will be put in place.
