World Investor Conference 2024 in Chennai
- In order to attract industrial investments in Tamil Nadu, the World Investor Conference is being held in Chennai on January 6 and 7. This conference was inaugurated by Chief Minister Stalin.
- A number of MoUs have been signed in this regard. Industry Secretary Arun Roy said that the target of attracting investment of 5.5 crore rupees in the conference was achieved on the first day. He said that more than 100 MoUs have been signed on the first day alone.
- The World Investors Conference is going on in Chennai. Various investment related announcements are being made in this conference. It is a 2 day conference.
- Many important project related announcements were made today. Among them, Hyundai Motors has signed an MoU for ₹6,180 crore to set up a factory in Kanchipuram
- ₹12,000 crore MoU has been signed with JSW in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi.
- Tata has signed an MoU to invest Rs 12,800 crore to expand its iPhone spare parts plant in Hosur. . Tata Electronics to set up mobile spare parts manufacturing plant in Krishnagiri district at a cost of ₹12,082 crore
- An agreement has been signed with VinFast of Vietnam to set up an electric vehicle and battery manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi at an investment of ₹16,000 crore. This will provide direct employment to 3,500 people. The construction of the manufacturing plant is expected to start this year itself
- America's First Solar - to invest ₹5600 crore. Pegatron to invest ₹1000 crore in Chennai (Employment of 8000 people). Mitsubishi Electronics to invest ₹200 crore in Chennai.
- TVS is going to invest an additional Rs.5,000 crore in Tamil Nadu. Hyundai is going to invest an additional Rs.6,000 crore in Tamil Nadu.
- The agreement for the light house project to be started by Godrej was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Conference in Chennai.
