Spain Investors Conference 2024
- Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has gone to Spain on a 10-day tour to attract foreign investments to Tamil Nadu. In this context, he attended the Tamil Nadu Investors First Port of Call (Tamil Nadu Investors First Port of Call) held yesterday in Madrid, the capital city of Spain.
- In this conference, Minister of Industry, Investment Promotion and Commerce D.R.P. Raja, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of 'Guidance' V. Vishnu, Indian Ambassador to Spain Dinesh K. Patnaik and Spanish businessmen attended.
- The International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup series is being held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. India's Sonam Musker scored 252.1 points to win the silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle category final. This will be Sonam Musker's first World Cup series.
- Sonam Musker, who won a silver medal in her debut World Cup, grabbed everyone's attention. Germany's Ana Johnson won the gold medal with 253 points and Poland's Aneta Stankiewicz won the bronze medal with 230.4 points.
- Union Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Mr. Bhupender Yadav released a report on the status of snow leopards in India at the National Wildlife Board meeting held today in New Delhi. The Snow Leopard Estimation Project in India is a project to estimate the number of snow leopards in India.
- Wildlife Agency of India is the national coordinator of this exercise. The snow leopard habitat mapping exercise was conducted from 2019 to 2023 in an area of around 120,000 sq km in the Himalayan region including the states of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. The number of snow leopards was estimated using camera traps in each identified layer area.
- Based on data analysis, the estimated number in various states is as follows: Ladakh (477), Uttarakhand (124), Himachal Pradesh (51), Arunachal Pradesh (36), Sikkim (21), Jammu and Kashmir (9).
- The President appointed Mr. Satnam Singh Sandhu as a member of the Rajya Sabha today. Son of a farmer, Satnam Singh Sandhu was one of India's leading educationists. Struggling to achieve education, Sandhu made it his life's mission to build a world-class educational institution by first laying the foundation for the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) in Landran, Mohali in 2001.
