Galo India Games 2024 Begin
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Galo India Games in Tamil Nadu this evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor R.N. Ravi, Principal M.K. Stalin and others have participated. The Galo India Games, which started on the 19th, will continue till the 31st in the cities of Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore and Madurai.
- The opening ceremony is being held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai. Tamil Nadu Governor R.N.Ravi and Chief Minister M.K.Stalin presided over the Prime Minister's function.
- Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Union Minister Nishit Pramanik, Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udayanidhi Stalin participated in the ceremony.
- Gallo India Games features a wide variety of sports. Sports competitions include Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Judo, Weightlifting, Archery, Boxing, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cycling, Gymnastics, Swimming, Hockey, Tennis, Shooting, Yoga, Wrestling.
- The award for the best public sector organizations is given annually by 'Scope', the apex body of central public sector organizations. The award is judged by a committee headed by a former Chief Justice.
- The award is determined through a rigorous competitive process and honors outstanding achievements of public sector organizations for their contribution to organizational growth and the overall national economy.
- The award ceremony for this year was held in New Delhi. Vice President Jakdeep Dhankar presided. NLC in the category of digital transformation. India was awarded the 'Scope Eminence Award' for corporate achievement.
- Mohan Reddy, Director, Projects and Operations, NLC India and Salomon Luther King, Principal General Manager received the award.
