India elected to CAC Executive Committee of UN
- The 46th meeting of the United Nations Organization for Food Safety and Standards was held in Rome. India has unanimously been selected as a member representing the Asian region in the Executive Committee of this group.
- India has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the UN CAC. Through this, India will contribute significantly in the process of setting international standards for various food products.
- Apart from Mizoram, in the other 4 states, (Dec. 3) the counting of votes and the election results are coming out in the morning.
- Accordingly, as of now, BJP is leading in states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh. The Congress is leading in Telangana, defeating the ruling Chandrashekhara Rao party, the Bharat Rashtriya Samiti.
- Elections were held in one phase in Madhya Pradesh which has 230 constituencies. A majority needs 116 seats to rule the state. In that respect, BJP is currently leading in 165 seats. Congress is leading in 64 seats. After the majority, the BJP is leading in most of the seats, so it is certain that the BJP will rule again in the state. The state is currently under the BJP rule led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
- Elections were held for 199 seats in Rajasthan which has 200 constituencies. A majority needs 100 seats to rule the state. In that respect, BJP is currently leading in 117 seats. Congress has 67 seats. After majority, since BJP is leading in most seats, BJP is going to form the government.
- In Chhattisgarh, which has 90 constituencies, a majority needs 46 seats to rule. In that respect, BJP is currently leading in 54 seats. Congress has 36 seats. After majority, since BJP is leading in most seats, BJP is going to form the government.
- Telangana, which has 119 constituencies, was held in a single phase. A majority of 60 seats is required to take power in this state. In that respect, Congress is currently leading in 63 seats. Rao-led Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (PRS) has 40 seats. After the majority, the Congress is leading in more seats in Telangana and the party is going to form the government there for the first time.
