Short-range 'Prahayam' missile test-fired successful
  • The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRPO) has developed short-range 'Prayam' missile for surface-to-surface attack and destruction. The missile was test-launched from APJ Abdul Kalam Island near Balasore coast in Odisha at 9.50 am yesterday. This test was successful. 
  • Pralayam missile has a range of 350 km. First 500 km. Able to reach and target. Capable of carrying loads ranging from 500 kg to 1,000 kg. The missile is designed to be deployed along the India-Pakistan Line of Control and the Line of Actual Control between India and China.
  • This missile is capable of defeating interceptor missiles. It is also capable of changing its trajectory after traveling a certain distance in mid-air.
Aditya - Isro's study data release that records light wave of solar radiation
  • Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a spacecraft to explore the outer space region of the Sun. It is traveling towards Sun's L-1 region with uniform velocity. In this case, ISRO released some research results during Adityavingalam's trip yesterday.
  • The X-ray spectrometer instrument HEL1OS on board Aditya recorded a light wave of solar radiation on October 29. These are consistent with data already provided by the US GIS spacecraft. 
  • This information will be useful for researchers who study energy and electrons emitted by solar radiation.
  • The HEL1OS instrument has been sent to study X-rays emitted from the Sun. The thermal energy generated through those rays can also be known through it. The instrument was manufactured by URRAO Satellite Centre, Bangalore.
  • In the meantime, it is noteworthy that after reaching the L-1 region of the Sun, which is 15 lakh km from the Earth, the spacecraft was positioned in the halo orbit (Halo Orbit) centered on it and studies were carried out.

75% Reservation – Bihar Cabinet approval
  • The Bihar state cabinet on Tuesday evening decided to increase the 60 per cent reservation (including 10 per cent for economically backward classes) to 75 per cent. This reservation bill is likely to be introduced in the current assembly session.

2,976 crores for Tamil Nadu - Union Government allocation
