Colors TV ties up with Ministry of Women and Child Development
- Colors, India's leading entertainment television channel, has partnered with the Ministry of Women and Child Development's 'Protect the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child' initiative. Colors is airing a new fictional show “Dorrie” to address the issue of girl child abandonment.
- Colors aims to create awareness about the social evil of girl child abandonment. Tori serial 2023 is telecast from 6th November on Colors TV from Monday to Friday at 9:00 PM.
- Defense Minister Shri. Rajnath Singh has approved. With the promulgation of these new rules, such leaves will be available equally to all women in the defense forces, whether one is an officer or in any other capacity.
- The decision is in line with the Defense Minister's vision of inclusive participation for all women in the Armed Forces, regardless of their ranks. A uniform extension of leave rules to all would benefit all women associated with the armed forces and their dependent families.
- This move will improve working conditions for women in the Army and help them balance career and family life better.
- The Indian junior team played against Pakistan in the 3rd place match of the Sultan Johor Cup hockey series held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The match ended in a 3-3 draw in regulation time.
- On behalf of the Indian team, Arun Shahani scored in the 11th minute, Bhuvanna in the 42nd minute and Uttam Singh in the 52nd minute. Sufyan Khan (33rd minute), Abdul Qayyum (50th minute) and Shahid Hannan (57th minute) scored for Pakistan.
- A penalty shoot out was then followed to decide the victory. 4 goals were scored by both teams in 5 chances. This was followed by the rule of 'sudden death'. Vishnukant Singh and Angad Bir Singh scored goals for the Indian team.
- Arshad Liaqat scored the goal for Pakistan team. Indian team's goalkeeper Mohit brilliantly blocked the team's captain Shahid Hannan's attempt to score. Indian team defeated Pakistan 6-5 and won the bronze medal.
