Tamil Nadu Digitization Strategy - CM Release
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin (2.11.2023) released the Tamil Nadu Digital Transformation Strategy (DiTN) document on behalf of the Department of Information Technology and Digital Services at the Chief Secretariat.
  • On this occasion, Information Technology and Digital Services Minister Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan, Chief Secretary Siv Das Meena, Principal Secretary IT and Digital Services Department Dheerajkumar, Co-Head of Tamilnadu E-Governance Agency Administrative Officer P. Ramana Saraswati and senior government officials were present.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 'India Manufacturing Exhibition' in Bengaluru
  • Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the three-day 'Make India Expo' 2023 at Bangalore, Karnataka on 02 November. The program is jointly organized by Lagu Udyog Bharati & IMS Foundation, Department of Defense Logistics Production, Ministry of Defence. 'Manufacturing in India, Manufacturing for the World' is the theme of the exhibition.
  • The sixth 'India Manufacturing Expo' will provide a platform for participants to showcase their technologies, research and development equipment in various fields such as aerospace and defense engineering, automation, robotics, drones and business and knowledge sharing opportunities. It aims to bring together the best ideas, best technologies and best practices.
The National Highways Authority has set up a 'Dust and Control Management Centre' to control dust at National Highway construction sites in the National Capital Region (NCR)
  • Delhi- National Highways Authority has set up a 'Dust and Control Management Centre' as per the guidelines issued by the Air Quality Management Authority to monitor the effective implementation of dust control measures on the National Highway Projects implemented by the National Highway Authority in the National Capital Region to improve the air quality index.
  • To keep air quality and dust levels under control, the National Highways Authority has directed its contractors to review the existing dust control measures at the National Highway construction sites and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Air Quality Management Authority / Central and State Pollution Control Boards.
  • Dust control measures to be taken at construction sites include use of sweepers on completed projects, water spraying throughout the day at all construction sites, and covering of construction and demolition materials with green netting or cloth.
  • In accordance with these guidelines, the National Highways Authority ensures that all possible measures are taken to enhance dust control at national highway construction sites in the region.
The coal sector recorded a growth of 16.1% in September
  • According to the index of eight major industries for the month of September 2023 released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the coal sector index reached 148.1 points with a growth of 16.1%. This is the highest growth in the last 14 months except August 2023.
  • The index measures the combined and individual productivity of eight major industries: cement, coal, crude oil, electricity, fertilizers, natural gas, refineries, and steel.
  • Coal production reached 67.27 million tonnes in September 2023. This is higher than the level of 58.04 million tonnes in the same period of the previous year. That means an increase of 15.91%. The coal industry sector recorded a growth of 9.1% in April 2023, which increased to 16.1% in September 2023.
  • The remarkable growth of the coal sector and its contribution to the overall growth of the eight key industries is testament to the continuous initiatives of the Ministry of Coal. These initiatives are aligned with the vision of "Self-Reliance India" and contribute to the nation's progress towards self-sufficiency and energy security.
Indo-Germany Young Leaders Conference 2023
  • In 2017, the Indo-German Young Leaders Consortium was launched by Prime Minister Modi and then German Chancellor Angela Merkel. It aims to promote economic development and strengthen geopolitical ties between India and Germany.
  • The main activity of the association is to identify young leaders from Germany and India and conduct an annual Young Leaders Conference on Business, Politics, Science, Technological Advancement and Cultural Activities.
  • This conference is being held in Germany one year and in India the next year. 20 young Indian leaders who are doing well with leadership qualities to participate.
