Davis Cup Tennis Series - Italy wins title after 47 years
  • The final of the Davis Cup tennis series was held in Malaga, Spain. In this match to win the title, Italy - Australia teams played a lot of tests. In the first singles match, Italy's Matteo Arnoldi took on Australia's Alexei Poprin. Matteo Arnoldi won 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. This gave Italy a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 2nd match, Italy's Jannik Schinner faced Australia's Alex De Minaur. Jannik Shinner easily won in straight sets 6-3, 6-0. With this, Italy won the match 2-0 and won the championship. Italy has just won the Davis Cup after 47 years.
  • Italy last won the trophy in 1976. Italy had reached the final 3 times before and 3 times since 1976 but failed to win the trophy. Italy had lost 3 times to Australia.
Ministry of Ayush won gold medal for excellence in 'India International Trade Fair'
  • Ministry of AYUSH has received gold medal for best performance in 'Ministry and Sector' category of 'India International Trade Fair'. A total of 18 industrial companies showcased their new products at the AYUSH arena.
  • AYUSH diet, innovative AYUSH products, yoga therapy classes, temperament and nature testing, medical counseling, creative games, learning were the main focus.
  • Visitors received medical advice on Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga-Naturopathy, Sova-Rigpa systems. At the AYUSH arena, career counseling was also given to the youth in the AYUSH sector.
  • The Ministry of AYUSH has been awarded a gold medal by the 'Indian Trade Development Organisation' for excellence in the 'Ministries and Sectors' category of the India International Trade Fair.
  • To promote AYUSH-Entrepreneurship, a total of 18 AYUSH Industries were given an opportunity by the Ministry of AYUSH to showcase their new products in the arena.
Missile destroyer 12706 Imphal is Inaugurated by Defense Minister Shri.  Rajnath Singh
  • Missile destroyer 12706 Imphal, the 3rd project of the 15B-4 project, was commissioned in New Delhi on November 28, 2023 by Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh in the presence of Manipur Chief Minister Mr. N. Byran Singh. 
  • Inauguration of Imphal decorated with Kangla Palace, 'Kangla-cha' is a fitting tribute to the people of Manipur who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, sovereignty and security of India. The crest design depicts Kangla Palace on the left and 'Kangla-sa' on the right. 
  • Kangla Palace is an important historical and archaeological site of Manipur. With the head of a dragon and the body of a lion, 'Kangla-sa' is a mythical creature in the history of Manipur. And it is symbolized as the protector of its people. 'Kangla-sa' is the state symbol of Manipur.
19th Working Committee Meeting on Data Collection and Statistics of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission
  • The Fisheries Department of the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is conducting the 19th Working Group on Data Collection and Statistics of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission from November 28 to December 2, 2023. The meeting began at the St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  • It is an important meeting that brings together renowned scientists and experts in the field of tuna fisheries from around the world. Central Government Fisheries Department Joint Secretary Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad, Maharashtra Government Fisheries Department Commissioner Mr. Atul Patne participated in this meeting.
  • Participants from Indonesia, France, Spain, other countries of the European Union, Seychelles, Tanzania, Iran, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, Oman, India are participating in this meeting. Apart from this, many participants from different countries, IODC and scientific organizations are also participating in the meeting in virtual mode.
  • This meeting will be followed by the IODC Main Scientific Panel meeting from 4 to 8 December 2023 at the same venue, WPTCS and WPTCs for scientific recommendations on sustainable management of tuna and tuna-like species in the Indian Ocean. It will consider the recommendations of various working groups.
  • Other large fish species such as tunas, sheilas, sharks, screw fishes are of enormous economic importance. Tuna alone contributes to trade worth US$41 billion annually (in 2018).
