புக்கர் பரிசு 2023 / BOOKER PRIZE 2023: உலகப் புகழ் பெற்ற புனைவு இலக்கிய விருதான புக்கர் பரிசை ஐரிஷ் எழுத்தாளர் பால் லிஞ்ச் பெற்றார். பால் லிஞ்ச் எழுதிய ப்ராபெட் ஸாங் (Prophet Song - தீர்க்கதரிசியின் பாடல்) என்ற நாவலுக்காக இந்த விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
லண்டனில் நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் புக்கர் விருதுடன் பரிசுத் தொகையாக 50 ஆயிரம் பவுண்ட்களும் (இந்திய மதிப்பில் சுமார் ரூ. 52 லட்சம்) பால் லிஞ்சுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
மொத்தம் 163 நாவல்களிலிருந்து இறுதிச் சுற்றுக்கு 6 நாவல்கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டன. அயர்லாந்தில் சர்வாதிகாரம் மற்றும் போரில் சிக்கிக் குலைந்த தன் குடும்பத்தைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கான ஒரு பெண்ணின் போராட்டம் பற்றிய ஆன்மாவை உலுக்குகிற நாவல் இது என்று புக்கர் பரிசுக்கான தேர்வுக் குழுவினர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளனர்.
இந்த நாவல்களிலிருந்து விருதுக்காக பால் லிஞ்ச்சின் நாவல் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவருடைய 5-வது நாவல் இது.
கடந்த ஆண்டு, இலங்கை உள்நாட்டுப் போரை மையமாகக் கொண்ட கதையான 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida' புத்தகத்தை எழுதியதற்காக புக்கர் பரிசை ஷேகன் கருணாதிலக வென்றார்.
இந்த ஆண்டு ஷேகன் கருணதிலகவிடமிருந்து டிராபியை பால் லிஞ்ச் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார். இவர் இந்த நாவலை 2018-ம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கி, 4 ஆண்டுகள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டதாக குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
அரசியல் மோதலைப் பற்றிய நாவல்கள் தொடர்ச்சியாக இரண்டாவது முறையாகப் புக்கர் பரிசைப் பெற்றுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

BOOKER PRIZE 2023: Irish author Paul Lynch has won the prestigious Booker Prize for fiction. The award was given for the novel Prophet Song by Paul Lynch. Paul Lynch was presented with the Booker Prize and 50,000 pounds (about Rs. 52 lakhs in Indian value) as prize money at an event held in London yesterday.
From a total of 163 novels, 6 novels were selected for the final round. The Booker Prize selection committee noted that this is a soul-wrenching novel about a woman's struggle to protect her family torn apart by dictatorship and war in Ireland. From these novels, Paul Lynch's novel has been selected for the award. This is his 5th novel.
Last year, Sheikhan Karunathilaka won the Booker Prize for his book 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida', a story centered on the Sri Lankan civil war. This year Paul Lynch received the trophy from Sheegan Karunathilak. He mentioned that this novel started in 2018 and took 4 years.
It is notable that novels about political conflict have won the Booker Prize for the second time in a row.
