14 member countries have signed the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Supply Chain Agreement
- USA hosted the Third Ministerial Meeting of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Progress (IPEF) on 14.11.2023 in San Francisco, California. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Mr. Piyush Goyal participated in the meeting.
- The IPEF organization was jointly launched by the United States and other countries of the Indo-Pacific region on May 23, 2022 in Tokyo. IPEF has a membership of 14 countries including Australia, Brunei, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and USA.
- It seeks to strengthen economic engagement among member countries with the aim of promoting growth, peace and prosperity in the region.
- This framework is structured around four pillars related to trade. Those four pillars are trade, supply chains, clean economy and fair economy. India is an observer in the first pillar system. India is a member of the other three structures. The supply chain agreement was signed during the IPEF Ministerial meeting held recently.
- In Spain's June elections, the centre-right Popular Party won the majority of the vote. But it was unable to secure support to form a government after forming an alliance with the far-right Vox party, which finished third.
- In this case, the Socialist Party of Pedro Sánchez, who was the Prime Minister, came second with 121 seats. But enough support was needed to form the government.
- In this case, after 2 days of discussion, the vote was held in the parliament. In this referendum, 179 of the 350-member House voted in favor of Pedro Sánchez. Only the right-wing opposition parties voted against him. Following this, Pedro Sanchez has been re-elected as the Prime Minister of Spain.
