Japan Tourism Award for Mannar Ecotourism Project
- Eco-tourism destinations have been set up using the contribution of the local people and utilizing the abundant natural resources of the region. The Mannar Ecotourism Project was recognized not only for its economic contribution to the local community by generating tours, but also for its efforts to preserve the region's unique ecosystem, promote environmental protection and create employment.
- For such noble efforts, the project was selected for the Executive Committee Award at the 7th Japan Tourism Awards Ceremony. Tourism Minister Ramachandran received the Executive Committee Award presented by Hiroyuki Takahashi, Chairman of the Japan Tourism Exhibition Executive Committee, for the Mannar Eco-Tourism Project of Tamil Nadu at the 7th Japan Tourism Awards ceremony held yesterday in Osaka, Japan. Manivasan, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Culture and Charitable Institutions attended the event.
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th India Mobile Conference 2023 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today (27.10.2023). India Mobile Conference (IMC) is Asia's largest telecom, media and technology confederation.
- The conference will be held from 27 to 29 October 2023 with the theme 'Global Digital Innovation'. IMC 2023 aims to strengthen India's position in the development, production and export of key cutting-edge technologies. At the event, the Prime Minister handed over 100 '5G application labs' to educational institutions across the country.
- The Prime Minister inaugurated the exhibition in Hall 5 and visited it. Industry leaders also spoke on the occasion.
- The three-day conference will highlight technologies such as 5G, 6G, artificial intelligence and discuss issues such as semiconductor industry, green technology and cyber security.
- This year, the Indian Mobile Conference is launching an innovation program called 'Aspire'. It will foster connections between innovators, investors and established businesses with the aim of sparking new entrepreneurial ventures and collaborations.
- More than 100,000 participants from 22 countries including around 5000 CEO level delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 industrial companies and industry professionals are participating in this conference.
