Gajanan's first test win
  • ISRO had planned to launch the first unmanned TV-T1 rocket of the Gaganyaan program from the launch pad at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 8 am today.
  • The 13-hour countdown for this started at 7 pm yesterday. ISRO had announced that the prototype spacecraft would be launched at 8.30 am instead of 8 am due to inclement weather.
  • However, due to inclement weather, the final countdown started at 8.45 am, delayed by 15 minutes. With 5 seconds left in the countdown, the mission was abruptly stopped.
  • ISRO chief Somnath announced that the computer in the TV-T1 rocket automatically stopped the launch due to engine misfiring at the last minute and that the spacecraft would be launched soon after the fault was identified and rectified.
  • As a result, ISRO scientists identified and fixed the problem in the rocket in the next few minutes. ISRO also announced that the rocket will be launched at 10 am. Accordingly, at exactly 10 am, the rocket for Kaganyan project was successfully launched with Crew escape system.
  • After traveling a distance of 16 point 6 km, the calan area where the astronauts can sit was separated from the rocket and tested separately. It was then parachuted into the Bay of Bengal at a distance of 10 km from Sriharikota and successfully tested.
  • In this case, the Kalan area where the astronauts landed safely in the Bay of Bengal was recovered by the Navy.
