• உலகப் பட்டினிக் குறியீடு 2023 / WORLD HUNGER INDEX 2023: உலக அளவில் உணவுப் பற்றாக்குறை, ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடு ஆகியவற்றை ஆய்வு செய்து ஆண்டுதோறும் உலகப் பட்டினிக் குறியீடு வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. 
• அயர்லாந்தைச் சேர்ந்த கன்சர்ன் வேர்ல்ட்வைட் மற்றும் ஜெர்மனியைச் சேர்ந்த வெல்ட் ஹங்கர் ஹில்ஃபே ஆகிய நிறுவனங்கள் இணைந்து உலக பட்டினி குறியீடு பட்டியலை வெளியிட்டு வருகின்றன.
• பல்வேறு காரணிகளை அடிப்படையாக கொண்டு இந்த பட்டினி குறியீடு தயாரிக்கப்படுகின்றன. அதாவது, ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடு, சைல்டு(child) ஸ்டண்டிங், குழந்தைகள் மரணம், சைல்டு வேஸ்டிங் ஆகியவை உலக பட்டினிக் குறியீடு பட்டியலை தயார் செய்ய அடிப்படையாக பின்பற்றப்படும் காரணிகளாக உள்ளன. 
• ஊட்டச்சத்து என்பது உடலுக்கு தேவையான கலோரிகள் கிடைக்காமல் இருப்பதை வைத்து கணக்கிடப்படும்.
• சைல்டு ஸ்டேண்டிங் என்பது குழந்தைகளின் வயதுக்கு ஏற்ற உயரம் என்பதை அடிப்படையாக கொண்டு கணக்கிடப்படும். சைல்டு வேஸ்டிங் என்பது 5-வயதுக்கு கீழே இருக்கும் குழந்தைகளில் எத்தனை பேர் வயதுக்கு ஏற்ற உடல் எடை மற்றும் உயரம் இல்லாமல் இருக்கிறார்கள் எனபதை வைத்து கணக்கிடப்படும். 
• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவை மற்றும் யுனிசெப் உள்ளிட்டவைகளிடம் இருந்து பெறப்படும் தரவுகளின் அடிப்படையில் கணக்கிடப்பட்டு உலக பட்டினிக் குறியீடு பட்டியல் வெளியாகிறது.
• மொத்தம் 122 நாடுகள் இந்த பட்டியலில் இடம் பிடித்துள்ளன. இதில் கடந்த ஆண்டு 107 வது இடம் பிடித்து இருந்த நிலையில், நடப்பு ஆண்டு மேலும் 4 இடங்கள் பின் தங்கி 111-வது இடத்திற்கு தள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
• உலக அளவில் இந்தியாவில் தான் சைல்டு வேஸ்டிங் அதிகமாக உள்ளதாகவும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதாவது 18.7 சதவீதம் இருப்பதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இந்தியாவின் அண்டை நாடுகளாவும் பொருளாதாரத்தில் பின் தங்கிய நாடுகளாகவும் உள்ள பாகிஸ்தான் 102 வது இடத்திலும் வங்காளதேசம் 81-வது இடத்திலும் நேபாளம் 69-வது இடத்திலும் இலங்கை 60-வது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன. 
• கடந்த ஆண்டும் உலக பட்டினிக் குறியீடு பட்டியலில் இந்தியாதான் இந்த நாடுகளை விட பின் தங்கியிருந்தது. கடந்த ஆண்டு பாகிஸ்தான (99), இலங்கை (64) வங்கதேசம் (84), நேபாளம் (81), ஆகிய இடத்தில் இருந்தன.
• தெற்கு ஆசிய மற்றும் ஆப்பிரிக்கா சவுத் ஆப் தி சஹாரா ஆகிய பிராந்தியங்கள்தான் உலகின் அதிக பட்டினி அளவை கொண்ட நாடுகள் பட்டியலில் கடைசி இடங்களில் உள்ளன. ஆனால் மத்திய அரசு, உலக பட்டினிக் குறியீடு பட்டியலை நிராகரித்துள்ளது.

• WORLD HUNGER INDEX 2023: The World Hunger Index is published annually to analyze food insecurity and malnutrition worldwide. Concern Worldwide from Ireland and Welt Hunger Hilfe from Germany jointly publish the World Hunger Index.
• These hunger indices are prepared based on various factors. That is, undernutrition, child stunting, child mortality, child wasting are the basic factors followed to prepare the World Hunger Index. Malnutrition is calculated based on the lack of calories needed by the body.
• Child standing is calculated based on the child's age-appropriate height. Child wasting is measured by how many children under 5 years of age are underweight and height for age. The World Hunger Index is calculated based on data from the United Nations and UNICEF.
• A total of 122 countries are included in this list. While it was ranked 107th last year, this year it has dropped 4 more places to 111th. It is also said that India has the highest rate of child wasting in the world. It is reported to be 18.7 percent.
• India's neighbors and economically backward countries Pakistan are at 102nd position, Bangladesh at 81st position, Nepal at 69th position and Sri Lanka at 60th position. 
• Last year too, India was lagging behind these countries in the World Hunger Index. Last year Pakistan (99), Sri Lanka (64), Bangladesh (84) and Nepal (81) were at the position.
• South Asia and Africa South of the Sahara are at the bottom of the list of countries with the highest levels of hunger in the world. But the central government has rejected the World Hunger Index list.
