Cauvery Management Board meeting
- A meeting of the Cauvery Management Board was held today regarding the Cauvery water sharing issue between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Accordingly, a consultation meeting was held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Cauvery Management Board Chairman SK Helder.
- Representatives from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry participated in this meeting. At that time, the Cauvery Management Authority has ordered Karnataka to release 3,000 cubic feet of water per second from the Cauvery.
- Accordingly, the Cauvery Commission has ordered to release 3,000 cubic feet of water per second for 15 days from October 16. The Cauvery Management Authority has directed Karnataka to accept the recommendations of the Cauvery Management Committee.
- Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 9th G20 Speakers' Conference (P20) at Yasobhoomi in New Delhi. Parliament of India is hosting the summit under the broad framework of India's G20 leadership with the theme 'One Earth, One Family, One Parliaments for One Future'.
- A pre-summit parliamentary body meeting on LIFE was also held on 12 October 2023 to discuss initiatives towards a green and sustainable future in harmony with nature.
