Defense Minister Rajnath Singh formally inducted the C-295 transport aircraft into the Indian Air Force

• The Indian Air Force has signed a contract to purchase 56 C-295 military transport aircraft from Airways Defense and Spice at a cost of Rs 21,935 crore. The first C-295 military transport aircraft under contract was recently handed over to India.
• A ceremony to induct the C-295 military transport aircraft into the Air Force was held at the Hindan Air Base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who participated in the event, formally inducted the C-295 military transport aircraft into the Air Force. The minister also inaugurated the Drone Shakti 2023 exhibition. The C-295 military transport aircraft was the first transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

Ullada was chosen as the best tourist village in the Nilgiris district

• The central government is trying to find the best tourist villages at the national level. Union Minister Kishan Reddy launched the best tourism village competition in February last year.
• Its main objective is to honor the villages that promote and preserve the local art, culture and way of life of the people. A separate website has also been launched for this purpose.
• Subsequently, 795 applications from states and union territories came to the Union Ministry of Tourism. In that way, Ullada village in Kethi valley in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu has been selected as the best tourist village at the national level for the year 2023.
• A team headed by Ullada village head Matan has gone to Delhi to receive the award. The state tourism department has borne the cost of travel, food and accommodation for them. The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held in Delhi tomorrow on 27th.

• In Kerala, a scheme called Karunya Arogya Suraksha provides free treatment to people in government hospitals. Free treatment worth 3,200 crores has been provided in the last 2 years under this scheme.
• More than 13 lakh people have benefited from 613 hospitals there. In this case, the central government's 'Aarogya Mandan' national award given to encourage excellent service in government hospitals has been given to Kerala this year.
