33 percent reservation bill for women - Unanimous passage in Rajya Sabha
- 33 percent reservation bill for women was tabled in the Rajya Sabha. There too, majority of the members voted in support of this bill regardless of whether the ruling party is the opposition party.
- All 215 members supported the bill in a vote held in the presence of Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar. Not a single person voted against. The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha mentioned that this is a historic event.
- Following the unanimous passage of the Bill in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the President's assent and subsequent implementation of the Bill is a big deal. It has been reported that this bill will be implemented in 2026 after population density and re-delineation of Lok Sabha constituencies.
- The Union Ministry of Agriculture has launched an artificial intelligence conversational assistance system for the Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), the Prime Minister's income support scheme for farmers, in New Delhi.
- Introduction of Artificial Intelligence Chatbot (AI Chatbot) will enhance the effectiveness of PM-Kisan programme. Currently, this chatbot service is available in English and Hindi. It has been announced that the service will soon be available in Bengali, Odia, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi languages.
