The first C-295 produced by Airbus for the Indian Air Force was handed over to India
  • Spain-based Airbus will manufacture and supply C-295 aircraft for the Indian Air Force. India and Airbus signed an agreement for this in 2021.
  • This was followed by production of the aircraft at a manufacturing plant in Seville, Spain. The contract was signed to supply 56 C-295 aircraft to the Indian Air Force. In this case, its first flight
  • Indian Air Force Commander VR Chaudhary received the first aircraft from Airbus at an event held in Spain. According to the contract, 16 aircraft will be manufactured in Spain and 40 aircraft will be manufactured at the plant in Vadodara, Gujarat. The Vadodara plant is a joint venture between Airbus and Tata. The C-295MW has a payload capacity of 5 to 10 tons.
Ayushman Bhava Movement was launched by the President
  • President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu today (13.09.2023) launched the Ayushman Bhava movement through video at a function held at the Governor's House in Gandhinagar. 
  • The Ayushman Bhava Movement is a comprehensive nationwide health initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It aims to provide comprehensive health services to reach every village and town in the country. This movement will be implemented from September 17 to October 2, 2023.
Union Cabinet approves expansion and extension of Prime Minister's Ujjwala Yojana
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi approved the extension of the Prime Minister's Ujjwala Yojana (PMYU). An additional 75 lakh connections have been approved over three years from FY 2023-24 to FY 2025-26. With the provision of these additional Ujjwala connections, the total number of beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Ujjwala scheme known as PMYU will rise to 10.35 crore.
  • Under this scheme, consumers will get a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder per year at Rs. 200 is subsidized up to 12 cylinders. The number of consumers of domestic cooking gas cylinders in the country was 14 crore in 2014, but this year it has increased to 32 crore.
Union Cabinet approves phase III e-courts for 4 years
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Narendra Modi approved the third phase of the Electronic Courts Project, a program of the Central Government for four years (from 2023) with an allocation of Rs 7210 crore. 
  • As a part of the National e-Governance Programme, the e-Courts project has been implemented since 2007 to enable IT in the Indian Judiciary.
  • By taking the gains of Phase-1 and Phase-2 to the next level, by moving towards electronic, online and paperless courts, by digitizing the entire court records including traditional records, and by connecting all court premises with e-service centers and by decentralizing e-filing / e-payments. E-Courts Phase-III aims to ensure maximum administration of justice through means. 
  • It will set up intelligent smart systems to help judges and registrars make data-based decisions while scheduling or prioritizing cases. The main objective of the third phase is to create an integrated technology platform for the judiciary that will provide seamless and paperless communication between courts, litigants and other stakeholders.
Union Cabinet approves signing of Memorandum of Understanding between India-US in the field of sharing successful digital solutions implemented on population scale for digital transformation
  • The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister approved the signing of MoU on June 12, 2023 between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Hi-Tech Industries of the Republic of Armenia on sharing successful digital solutions implemented on population scale for digital transformation.
  • The MoU aims to promote closer collaboration, experiences and digital technology-based solutions (India Stack) in implementing digital transformation initiatives of both countries. The MoU aims at enhanced cooperation leading to employment opportunities in the IT sector.
  • This MoU will be valid for 3 years from the date of signing by both the parties.Bilateral cooperation in the field of digital public infrastructure will be enhanced in the form of government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B). The activities contemplated in this MoU shall be funded through their regular administrative activity appropriations.
Union Cabinet approves Memorandum of Understanding between India and Antigua-Barbuda for cooperation in sharing solutions for digital transformation
  • The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister today approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication Technologies of Antigua-Barbuda to share successful implementation of digital solutions in the digital transformation of the people. The agreement was signed on 13 June 2023.
  • The MoU will result in closer cooperation in implementing digital transformation initiatives of both countries. It also aims to promote experiences and digital technology based solutions.
Union Cabinet approves Memorandum of Understanding between India and Sierra Leone to facilitate collaboration in sharing solutions for digital transformation
  • In the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister today, a Memorandum of Understanding was approved between the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information Technology of the country of Sierra Leone to share digital solutions that can be successfully implemented in the digital transformation of the people. The agreement was signed on June 12, 2023.
  • The MoU will result in closer cooperation in implementing digital transformation initiatives of both countries.
Union Cabinet approves foreign investment up to Rs 9589 crore in Suven Pharmaceuticals
  • Prime Minister Mr. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Narendra Modi, today approved a proposal for foreign investment of up to Rs 9589 crore in M/s Berhyanda's Suven Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company in Cyprus. Cyprus-based Messrs. 
  • Berhyanda has approved the acquisition of 76.1% stake in M/S Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited, a public limited Indian pharmaceutical company listed on the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange, by way of exchange from the existing shareholders and general shareholders through a compulsory open offer. Total foreign investment in Suven Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company may increase to 90.1%.
