- The Organization of Military Services (Command, Control and Discipline) Bill - 2023 was passed in the Lok Sabha. The Bill confers all disciplinary and administrative powers on the Commander-in-Chief and Commander-in-Chief, Commanding Military Officers, in relation to the staff of the Services or their affiliated bodies.
- At present, soldiers are governed by the provisions of the Army Act 1950, Navy Act 1957 and Air Force Act 1950, which are their respective Service Acts. The bill creates tangible benefits such as speedy disposal of cases of misconduct or misconduct and saving public money and time by avoiding multiple proceedings.
