28% GST on online games - Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced
- 51st GST in Delhi The Council meeting was presided over by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In this meeting held through video, prominent representatives of the Ministry of Finance participated on behalf of the state governments.
- In this meeting, a proposal was made to levy 28 percent Goods and Services Tax on online games. Ultimately it was decided to implement 28 percent GST on online games. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that this procedure will come into effect from October 1.
- The new levy will come into effect from October 1, after making necessary changes in Union and state laws for this purpose. This levy will be reviewed after 6 months of implementation.
- The second phase of excavation is underway at Vijayakarisalkulam near Vembakottai in Virudhunagar district. 15 pits have been dug here with a depth of 15 feet. Excavation is currently going on in the 15th pit.
- Excavations so far have found more than 3,150 items, including gold ornaments, dice, dosai stone, flint doll, smoke detector, earring. In this case, a limestone filter plate has been found in the excavation in the 15th pit.
- Union Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the introduction of a new type of AYUSH Visa for foreigners to seek treatment under AYUSH Medical Systems / Indian Medical Systems. A special visa scheme is introduced for foreigners visiting India for treatment under Indian medical systems like Ayush systems, therapeutic care, wellness and yoga.
- Section 11A has been inserted after section 11 in the visa dealing with treatment under Indian medical systems and necessary amendments have been made accordingly.
