The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for development projects in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh
  • Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for development projects in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh and dedicated it to the country. These projects include the foundation stone laying of Chand Siromani Gurudev Sri Ravidas Memorial to be built at a cost of over Rs 100 crore, two road projects to be built at a cost of over Rs 1580 crore and dedication of the Kota-Bina railway line to the nation at a cost of over Rs 2475 crore.
7th Asian Champions Cup Hockey Tournament - Indian Team Champion
  • The 7th Asian Champions Cup Hockey Tournament was held at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Sports Arena, Egmore, Chennai. In this series, unbeaten India and Malaysia clashed in the final. In this, the Indian team defeated the Malaysian team with the score of 4-3 and won the Asian Champions Cup for the 4th time.
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and Union Sports Minister Anurag Tagore presented the trophy to the Indian hockey team that won the Asian Champions Cup. Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udayanidhi Stalin was also present.
  • For the Indian team that won the trophy for the 4th time, the Tamil Nadu government announced a prize money of 5 lakh rupees each for the players and 2 1/2 lakh rupees for the coaches. Similarly, the Hockey India organization announced a prize money of Rs 3 lakh for the players and Rs 1 1/2 lakh for the coaches.
A one-man panel headed by retired Justice Chanduru to investigate the Nanguneri incident
  • Chinnadurai, a student from Nanguneri Perunderu, is studying in Class 12 at Kankardia Government Higher Secondary School, Valliyur. There has been a caste-based conflict between him and some students who studied in the same school.
  • On the night of last 9th, a gang broke into the house and attacked Chinnathurai and her younger sister with sickles. In this connection, 7 children including 4 students have been arrested.
  • In this situation, Chief Minister Stalin has ordered to form a one-man committee under the leadership of retired Justice Sanduru to avoid violence arising out of caste and ethnic sentiments among school and college students. 
  • It has also been informed that this committee will receive opinions from various parties such as educators, students, parents, social thinkers and journalists and will soon submit a report to the government based on that.
Chief Minister M.K.Stalin presented award to 6 Village Panchayats for best health activities
  • In the Rural Development and Panchayat Department grant request for the year 2021-22 in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, in order to encourage village panchayats that perform well in health, a 'Model Village Award' has been created and on the basis of one village panchayat per district, 37 village panchayats will be honored with the model village award. 
  • A shield and a prize money of Rs.7.5 lakh each will be given for this award. Along with the district level awards, it was announced that the best performing panchayats will be given a shield and a prize money of Rs. 15 lakh each for the state level exemplary village award.
  • In pursuance of the notification, three villages namely, Kulur Village Panchayat under Modakurichi Panchayat Union of Erode District, N. Panchampatti Village Panchayat under Attur Panchayat Union of Dindigul District and Nattathi Village Panchayat under Tiruvaikundam Panchayat Union of Tuticorin District have been nominated for State Level Model Village Awards for the year 2021-22. Panchayats have been selected.
  • Three village panchayats namely Nayakkanpalayam Village Panchayat under Pollachi (South) Panchayat Union of Coimbatore District, Melmaruvathur Village Panchayat under Chittamur Panchayat Union of Chengalpattu District and Ariyanendal Village Panchayat under Paramakkudy Panchayat Union of Ramanathapuram District have been selected for the exemplary village awards for the best health activities at the state level for the year 2022-23.
  • He felicitated the Panchayat Council Leaders of these six selected Village Panchayats with State Level Exemplary Village Awards, a prize money of Rs.15 lakh each and a shield at the Chief Secretariat of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.
