Godrej's new plant at Rs 515 crore in Chengalpattu district - signed in presence of Chief Minister Stalin
- Godrej Consumer Products, a part of Godrej Group, has established its manufacturing units at 33 locations in India. The company, which has established a manufacturing center at Chiramalai Nagar in Chengalpattu district in Tamil Nadu, is planning to set up a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant with the aim of being a flagship company in advanced manufacturing.
- Accordingly, a manufacturing center for soaps, face creams, hair care products and mosquito repellent has been set up in Chengalpattu district with an investment of Rs.515 crore and employment for 446 people.
- In this scheme, 50 percent employment will be given to women. Also, the company said that it is going to provide employment to transgenders and differently-abled persons.
- To implement this project, a memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday between the Tamil Nadu government and Godrej Consumer Products Company in the presence of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.
- Indian Navy's flagship domestic warships INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata are participating in the Malabar 2023 exercise scheduled in Sydney from August 11 to 21 along with ships and aircraft from the US Navy, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and Royal Australian Navy.
- The Malabar series of maritime exercises began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between the Indian Navy and the US Navy and has been ongoing over the years involving four major navies in the Indo-Pacific region. The Royal Australian Navy participated in the 2020 exercise for the first time. The Malabar 2023 sea exercise is planned to be conducted in two phases.
