Union Cabinet approves New Delhi Administration Bill
  • Since New Delhi does not have statehood, its entire administrative authority rests with the Lt. Governor, so there is a conflict between the Aam Aadmi Party government led by New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Lt. Governor.
  • Following this, President Drabupati Murmu recently promulgated an ordinance to create the National Capital Civil Works Commission. The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly opposed this and is seeking support from the opposition parties. 
  • In this case, the emergency law was approved in the central cabinet meeting held today (25th). With this emergency bill, the central government will have the power to control the appointment and transfer of government officials in New Delhi.
India's economic growth will be 6.1 percent - IMF forecast

  • The IMF has released the results of a new study in that regard. Accordingly, it has been said that the growth of the world has slightly improved in 2023. This is attributed to several drastic (austerity) economic measures taken in the first quarter. However, it has also warned that there will be various challenges in the future.
  • IPF forecasts global GDP growth at 3.0% in 2023. It also predicted that it would be 0.2 percent higher than the one reported in April. However, it also predicts that it will remain at the level of 3.0% in 2024
  • Looking at the IMF projections for India. It has said that India's GDP growth in this financial year will be 6.1 percent. This was 0.2 percent higher than forecast in April. India had stronger-than-expected growth in the fourth quarter of 2022. The growth rate increased last year as domestic production increased.
  • But this year the Reserve Bank has predicted that India's economic growth will be 6.5%, while the IMF has predicted India's economy to be lower than that, i.e. 6.1%. It also said that economic growth will be affected in the coming months. India's growth in 2022 is 7.2%. It has now fallen to 6.1 percent.
  • IMF has predicted not only about India, but also about America. The IMF said US economic growth will be 0.2 percent higher than in April. It means that the US economic growth rate will be 1.8 percent. It has said that China's economic growth rate will remain at 5.2 percent.
  • Many countries of the world will suffer from inflation and this will affect the purchasing power of the people. The IMF has also said that there will be problems like high borrowing levels and rising interest rates.
Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Heli Summit 2023, UDAN 5.2 at Khajuraho
  • Union Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today inaugurated the 2023 Heli Summit in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Cynthia also introduced the RCS Udon 5.2 and Heliceva-Processor during the event.
  • The 5th Helicopter and Small Aircraft Summit (Heli Summit 2023) was organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in association with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Pawan Hans Limited and Confederation of Indian Commerce and Industry (FICCI). 
  • “Reaching the End: Regional Transport Connectivity through Helicopters and Small Aircraft” is the theme of the event. The event will consist of an opening session followed by a technical session.
