கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் / KAVACH TECHNOLOGY: விபத்தில்லா ரயில் பயணம் என்ற திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக 2022 மத்திய பட்ஜெட்டில் ஆத்ம நிர்பர் பாரத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் கவாச் எனப்படும் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பு உருவாக்கப்படும் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
கவாச் எனப்படும் உள்நாட்டு தானியங்கி ரயில் பாதுகாப்பு (ATP - Automatic Train Protection) அமைப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதன் மூலம், இந்தியாவில் ரயில் சேவைகளின் பாதுகாப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான குறிப்பிடத்தக்க நடவடிக்கையை ரயில்வே அமைச்சகம் அறிவித்தது. கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம், இந்திய ரயில்வேக்கான தேசிய தானியங்கி ரயில் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் என்பது தானியங்கி ரயில் மோதல் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பாகும். ரிசர்ச் டிசைன்ஸ் மற்றும் ஸ்டாண்டர்ட்ஸ் ஆர்கனைசேஷன் (RDSO) மூலம் மூன்று இந்திய நிறுவனங்களுடன் இணைந்து கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
கவாச் அமைப்பின் முக்கிய அம்சங்களாக, ஆபத்து நேரங்களில் சிக்னல்களை தாண்டும்போது, ரயில் ஓட்டுநர்களுக்கு உதவும் வகையிலும், ரயில் ஓட்டுநர்கள் செயல்பட தவறும் பட்சத்தில் தானாகவே பிரேக் போடும் வகையிலும், அடர்ந்த மூடுபனி போன்ற பாதகமான வானிலையின் போது உதவும் வகையிலும் கவாச் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தேவைப்படும் போது தானாகவே பிரேக்குகளைப் பயன்படுத்துவதன் மூலம், இந்த அமைப்பு ரயில்களின் வேகத்தை கட்டுப்படுத்தி விபத்துகளை தடுக்கும். அத்துடன், ரயிலின் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட வேகத்தைவிட வேகமாகவும் இயங்க அனுமதிக்காது.
பனிமூட்டமான சூழ்நிலைகளிலும், அதிக வேகத்திலும் மேம்பட்ட பார்வைக்காக கேபினில் லைன்-சைட் சிக்னல் காட்சியை வழங்குதல், இயக்கத்தை தொடர்ந்து கட்டுப்படுத்துதல், லெவல் கிராசிங்குகளில் தானியங்கி விசில், அவசரகால சூழ்நிலைகளில் ரயில்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த SOS அம்சம், மோதலைத் தவிர்க்க ரயில் ஓட்டுநர்களிடையே நேரடி தொடர்பை ஏற்படுத்துவது உள்ளிட்ட அம்சங்களும் இந்த கவாச் அமைப்பில் அடங்கும்.
வெற்றிகரமான சோதனை
கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் / KAVACH TECHNOLOGY: தென் மத்திய ரயில்வேயின் லிங்கம்பள்ளி-விகாராபாத்-வாடி மற்றும் விகாராபாத்-பிதார் பிரிவுகளில் 250 கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம் வரை கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் வெற்றிகரமாக சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது.
தெலங்கானா மாநிலத்தில் இந்த அமைப்பு சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டபோது, கவாச் தொழில்நுட்பம் பொருத்தப்பட்ட இரண்டு ரயில்கள் ஒரே தண்டவாளத்தில் விடப்பட்டது.
அந்த சமயத்தில் ஒரு ரயில் இன்ஜினில் ரயில்வே அமைச்சர் அஸ்வினி வைஷ்ணவும், மற்றொன்றில் ரயில்வே வாரிய தலைவர் வி.கே.திரிபாதியும் இருந்தனர்.
இந்த ரயில்கள் எதிர் எதிரே வரும்போது தாமாகவே 380 மீட்டர் இடைவெளியிலேயே நின்றுவிட்டது. வெற்றிகரமான அந்த சோதனையைத் தொடர்ந்து, இந்திய ரயில்வே நெட்வொர்க்கில் இந்த தொழில்நுட்பத்தை மேம்படுத்த, மூன்று இந்திய நிறுவனங்களும் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டன.
கவாச் தொழில்நுட்ப வளர்ச்சிக்காக செய்யப்பட்ட மொத்த செலவு ரூ.16.88 கோடியாகும். டெல்லி-ஹவுரா மற்றும் டெல்லி-மும்பை மார்க்கத்தில் இந்த தொழில்நுட்பத்தை 2024ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச்சுக்குள் செயல்படுத்த ரயில்வே திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. இந்த திட்டம் மேலும் விரிவாக்கப்படும் எனவும் ரயில்வே தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

KAVACH TECHNOLOGY: As part of the accident-free train journey, it was announced in the Union Budget 2022 that a safety system called Havach would be created under the Atma Nirbar Bharat scheme.
The Ministry of Railways has announced a significant step to improve the safety of train services in India by upgrading the domestic Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system known as HAVACH. Havach technology has been adopted as the National Automated Train Safety System for Indian Railways.
Havach technology is an automatic train collision protection system. Havach technology was developed by the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) in collaboration with three Indian companies.
Key features of the Havach system include assisting train drivers when crossing signals at times of danger, automatic braking in case of driver inaction and adverse weather conditions such as dense fog.
By automatically applying brakes when needed, the system can control the speed of trains and prevent accidents. Also, the train is not allowed to run faster than the prescribed speed.
The Havach system also includes features such as provision of line-side signal display in the cabin for improved visibility in foggy conditions and high speed, continuous movement control, automatic whistle at level crossings, SOS feature to control trains in emergency situations, direct communication between train drivers to avoid collisions.
Successful test
KAVACH TECHNOLOGY: Havach technology has been successfully tested on the Lingampally-Vigarabad-Wadi and Vigarabad-Bidar sections of the South Central Railway up to a distance of 250 km.
When the system was tested in Telangana state, two trains equipped with Havach technology were left on the same track.
At that time, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishna was in one train engine and Railway Board Chairman VK Tripathi was in the other.
These trains automatically stop at a distance of 380 meters when coming opposite each other. Following that successful trial, three Indian companies were approved to develop this technology on the Indian railway network.
The total expenditure incurred for the development of Gavach technology was Rs.16.88 crores. Railways plans to implement this technology on Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes by March 2024. Railways also informed that this project will be further expanded.
