Rs 4,079 crore as State Investment Fund for Tamil Nadu for 2023-24: Union Finance Ministry approves
- On the basis of allocation of funds, the Union Finance Ministry distributes the allocation funds to all the states. Accordingly, 16 states namely Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Goa, Gujarat, Aryana, Himachal, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana and West Bengal have been given special assistance fund for capital investment for the current financial year 2023-24. The Union Government has approved a total allocation of Rs.56,415 crore.
- In this, the Union Government has approved an allocation of Rs.4,079 crores only for Tamil Nadu. Also, this amount should be used for capital investment projects in various sectors including health, education, irrigation, water supply, electricity, bridges and railways for the state, according to the approval given by the Union government. It is noteworthy that Rs.9,640 crore has been allocated to the state of Bihar.
- The NANTI (New Drugs and Vaccines) website was launched by the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Mr. Parshotham Rupala in New Delhi.
- Through this website, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying will seamlessly integrate with Central Drug Regulatory Authority's Sugam website for evaluation of animal products and regulatory approval with transparency.
- Indian Navy 2023 in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an event titled Dialogue Conference and Trade Seminar on Indian Navy's Domestic Requirements: Opportunities for Industry.
- Chief of Maintenance Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani attended the conference as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for industrial, micro, small and medium enterprises, start-ups to interact with Indian Navy personnel.
- In order to achieve self-sufficiency in defence, the Indian Navy's requirements and plans for indigenization were discussed. More than hundred industrialists, micro, small and medium enterprises and startup companies participated in this conference.
